public art: kindness doesn’t cost anything

In 2016, I was selected by Art in Public Places to be an artist-in-residence with the City of Austin's Emergency Medical Services with the goal of creating artwork for three stations that were undergoing renovations. I embedded myself with EMS crews at each station and photographed their work over the course of several months. The resulting installation is titled "Kindness Doesn't Cost Anything" and consists of six photographic images printed on 7 foot tall glass panels using ceramic inks. Two panels are hanging at each station, flanking the ambulance bay doors. The panels are illuminated by LED lights programmed with different noise patterns and change color continuously at night. The photographs of the installation were taken by Philip Rogers.
